The COVID-19 virus has dramatically affected our lives. As a physician I learned the importance of being guided by science. Until such time as there is a safe and effective vaccine, the only way to control the virus, revive our economy, and reopen schools is to follow public health principles and guidelines. There are no shortcuts.
TRAFFIC & ROADS
For years the community has asked city government to deal with the sorry state of our streets and worsening traffic congestion. For years these problems have not been solved. We need a council that identifies actual solutions to old problems and is willing to act aggressively to solve them.
One of the first things I learned as a medical student was that in an emergency you must respond decisively. We can’t debate the climate emergency any longer. I will defend your right to a healthy future by fully funding and staffing our Climate Commission.
As a physician I understand that children and families represent the future and that we must put in place policies that support and nurture them in these uncertain times. As a council member I will fight to make sure that Petaluma is a healthy, inclusive and sustainable community for all families.
