First I want to thank the community for your support, your votes, and your confidence in my ability to take on the job ahead. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me in waging a values-driven campaign based on the understanding that we are all in this together. I will start work immediately on getting up to speed so that I can start advocating for a healthy, inclusive and sustainable Petaluma from day one.
This was a hard fought and passion filled campaign. I look forward to working with the newly elected council members and those who will be running in 2022. For those of you who will not be serving on the council, thank you for engaging in this most important civic process.
Of course, I want to thank my family for their support and understanding. I also want to thank my campaign team. I could not have done this without you.
Finally, this is not the end, it is a beginning. It won’t be easy to change the direction of a modern city. But if we work together, we can make Petaluma healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable. We can rebuild our economy, we can build the affordable housing that we desperately need, we can eliminate racism, and we can begin to seriously address our climate crisis.
As Bernie says, not ME, US!!
